Manchester United and Manchester City look set to do battle for Crewe Alexandra teenager Max Clayton.
United have trumped their neighbours by landing both Robin van Persie
and Angelo Henriquez this summer and wanted Clayton as part of the deal
which took Nick Powell to Old Trafford. However, United agreed to delay
the move for Clayton but the People claims City look set to offer up to
£5million for the 18-year-old striker.
Clayton, who only turned 18 last week, scored five goals in 30 games
for Crewe last season and has caps for England at Under-16, Under-17 and
Under-18 level.
