Seeing Lucas Moura run out at Old Trafford may yet turn out to be a sign of things to come.
In Brazil's Olympic Games clash with Belarus yesterday, the Sao Paulo attacking midfielder was only given five minutes to shine by coach Mano Menezes, but will have surely soaked up the atmosphere at one of Britain's greatest stadiums.
When asked by ESPN Brasil after the game about a possible move to Premier League giants Manchester United, Moura remained coy (via Sambafoot.com).
"At the moment I'm a Sao Paulo player and I'm focused on the Olympics," he said.
"After the Olympics are over, I'll decide."
Lucas went on express his ambivalence to the situation, indicating that should he move or stay, he would be content.
"I don't want to worry about this. If I am meant to leave now, it will happen. Otherwise, I'll remain calm because I'm still very young."
Reading between the lines, the fact that he feels the need to reassure himself that, were a move not to take place, he would have to stay "calm," rather indicates that the player would prefer a move to Old Trafford this summer.
Despite the fact that the Brazilian phenom was in Manchester over the weekend, and logic dictates that his agent would have followed, there has been no reporting of any negotiation with United officials taking place over a possible transfer.
Although there have been mixed messages sent over whether or not a move could still take place, neither party has categorically ruled out the possibility of a deal still being made before the conclusion of the current transfer window.
Nevertheless, United fans can expect no easy conclusion to what has been one of the most drawn-out transfer sagas in recent memory.
